Brian Roberts

GLOBAL DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

A school teacher by trade, Brian left his hometown Dublin, Ireland to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Physical Education, Sports Science and Theology at Newman College University in Birmingham, England. Upon graduation Brian secured a position in Birmingham’s first specialist sports college and delivered curricula and extra curricula practical and theory PE lessons to primary and secondary school students.

During school summer breaks, Brian pursued his passion of coaching soccer and spent several summers delivering camp programs at Chicago Fire Soccer Club in the US. In 2007, Brian accepted a full time position at the Fire and was responsible for building an extensive nationwide youth soccer club network before taking a leadership role with the club’s elite academy program. There Brian established the renowned PASS program (Performance, Advisory and Support Service) which was tasked with the holistic development of youth elite athletes while providing performance pathways from the academy to the club’s professional team or to university. During his time with the Fire academy, Brian oversaw the transition of 11 youth players to the 1st team and maintained a 98% rate of players continuing their soccer education at colleges across the country.

Today, Brian is pursuing a post graduate degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology while supporting organizations in holistic player development, coach education and parent engagement initiatives.
