Course: Collegiate Athletes Program

CSTA – Module 02 – Financial Psychology

Financial psychology relates to our behavior towards personal finances and financial decisions regarding money, budgeting, investing and so on. Family, society and culture play a huge role in the development of the athlete’s financial psychology.  Money is a social tool and our attitudes, beliefs and practices connected with it, are heavily influenced by the people who surround us.  In this module, we discuss how the pursuit of money is all about trying to meet either emotional or psychological desires and identifying these desires will give student athletes greater control over their financial behavior.  The module is divided into seven separate sessions with each session addressing a key area of the module’s theme.
