Back to school now means more than classes, training, and competition. For many student-athletes, it also means contracts, sponsorships, revenue sharing, taxes, and a growing number of financial decisions arriving all at once.
The NIL landscape in 2026 is more developed, but also more complex. Athletes can earn through brand partnerships, appearances, merchandise, camps, and content, while new revenue-sharing structures are changing how money flows through college sports. Opportunity has expanded but so has responsibility.
This September, we are building a practical NIL financial playbook. We will look at how athletes can understand their value, avoid common financial mistakes, build a budget around irregular income, and protect themselves when contracts and compliance rules enter the picture.
The goal is simple: help student-athletes move from earning money to managing it with confidence.
Because NIL success is not just about getting paid. It is about knowing what your money is worth, where it is going, and how to protect it.
